A routine traffic stop led to citations for two Nebraska football players over the weekend.

The Omaha World-Herald is reporting that safety Marquel Dismuke and defensive back Jeramiah Stovall were cited by Lincoln police on Friday night. Stovall was cited for possessing less than an ounce of marijuana and Dismuke received a citation for driving on a suspended license.

Dismuke was initially pulled over by police for failing to display a front license plate on his vehicle.

“We are aware of the incident and are addressing it,” said a spokesperson from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Dismuke has appeared in 20 career games for the Huskers, totaling 44 tackles, 28 of which were solo stops. After being a contributor the past two seasons for Nebraska, he’s expected to have an even bigger role in 2019 and potentially compete for a starting spot.

Stovall has also appeared in 20 games for the Huskers, primarily on special teams. He has registered 12 tackles with four solo stops over the last two seasons.
