Mark Whipple provides personal health update following scary fall in Week 11
Mark Whipple is not letting an injured foot stop him from calling plays.
In a Wednesday morning presser, Nebraska’s OC came out to answer questions with a boot on his foot. During last Saturday’s game against Michigan, Whipple suffered a hard fall at the Big House putting his leg out of commission to be on the field.
Despite the situation, Whipple will still be calling plays for the Cornhuskers, just not on the field. Instead, he will be in the booth for Nebraska’s matchup against Wisconsin this Saturday in a B1G West match, Whipple revealed Wednesday.

Whipple says he’s feeling well and benefited from a surgery years ago that placed metal into that leg. He’ll call plays from the booth this week against Wisconsin. pic.twitter.com/5QEM5AbFcA

The fall and collision were a result of AJ Henning, Michigan’s returner, running into Whipple on the sideline upon an out-of-bounds kickoff return, causing Whipple to be on the ground for several minutes.
We will see how well Whipple can call plays from the booth on Saturday as the Huskers take on the Badgers at home at 12:00 p.m. ET.
