Mark Whipple updates progress of Nebraska offense, QB battle through early part of camp
Mark Whipple enters his first season as OC for Scott Frost at Nebraska with a lot on the line. He also has a quarterback battle to sort through while finding the right offensive pieces to play for the Huskers.
On Monday, Whipple met with the media following practice to share insight on the early part of fall camp. According to Evan Bland with the Omaha World-Herald, Whipple said he has seen the offense “take a step” in its progress. He also said the QB room has had a strong summer.
“They had a really good summer just kind of going over the things they can see themselves in the throw game and in the run game (and) the mistakes they made,” Whipple said Monday. “I’ve seen the offense take a step forward.”
Nick Sehnert with 93.7 FM The Ticket in Lincoln also reported the order of reps from Monday’s practice went with Casey Thompson, Chubba Purdy, Logan Smothers and Heinrich Haarberg. Whipple also said that Haarberg has had his 2 best days yet at the start of fall camp and praised the arm talent of freshman Richard Torres.
