Markese Stepp was a part of a crowded running back room at Nebraska. Now, he’s reportedly on the move and electing to enter the transfer portal.

According to Sam McKewon with the Omaha World-Herald, Stepp has entered the transfer portal after one season with the program. Stepp rushed for 177 yards and 2 touchdowns during the 2021 season.

Stepp originally began his career at USC and rushed for 505  yards with the Trojans over parts of 3 seasons. He had the third-most carries of a running back for the Huskers in 2021 but was a part of a crowded running back room.

Nebraska is returning Rahmir Johnson, Jaquez Yant and a recovering Gabe Ervin Jr. to the backfield. The Huskers also added to the unit via the transfer portal, picking up talented JUCO back Anthony Grant for 2022.
