Matt Rhule is reportedly bringing a familiar face with him to Nebraska. The news was reported by Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman.

Ed Foley coached with Rhule at Temple, Baylor, and the Carolina Panthers. Foley has mainly worked with special teams when with Rhule. Other position groups that Foley has coached in the past are TE and O-line.

Foley was also the interim coach at Temple when Rhule left for Baylor.

College football fans might remember Foley’s hilarious speech in Shreveport for the Independence Bowl a few years ago. Foley went on and on about how amazing the city of Shreveport was, comparing it to heaven. Foley even found a place in town that made Philly cheesesteaks.

While with the Panthers, Foley was an assistant special teams coach during Rhule’s tenure there. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of role Foley will have with Rhule this time around if the rumors are true.

Along with the reports on Foley, Rhule is reportedly making sweeping changes to the strength and nutrition staff of the Huskers. We’ll see how these moves pan out but Rhule is working quickly in Lincoln.
