Matt Rhule was officially named Nebraska’s next head coach on Saturday morning.

It was reported that Rhule would likely become the Cornhuskers next head coach on Friday, and that became official rather quickly Saturday.

Nebraska announced the news Saturday morning via its social media account.

During his college career, Rhule was a combined 47-43 overall at Temple and Baylor. Rhule took Temple from 2-10 in his first season to 10-3 in his final season in 2016.

Following his tenure at Baylor, Rhule opted to head to the NFL with the Carolina Panthers. In 2.5 seasons with the Panthers, Rhule was 11-27 overall and was fired during the 2022 season.
