Mickey Joseph is making some more headlines. This time, it’s not for a good reason.

Joseph was arrested in Lincoln after officers concluded an investigation at a separate residence. The Lincoln Police Department stated in their release that usually press releases aren’t done for these kinds of situations, but because of who Joseph is it was necessary.

Joseph was arrested on suspicion of strangulation and third degree domestic assault. There is no further information at this time about who the victim was or the injuries that were caused.

Lincoln Journal Star’s Amie Just posted a press release from the Lincoln Police Department.

This is very unfortunate as new Nebraska HC Matt Rhule said that he was going to talk with Joseph about potentially retaining the former interim HC on the coaching staff recently.

Joseph took over for former HC Scott Frost following the Week 2 loss to Georgia Southern. The Huskers finished the regular season at 4-8, missing the bowl season. Nebraska won the last game of Joseph’s tenure against Iowa 24-17 which shook up the B1G West title race.

Tradition will keep you updated as more information becomes available about Joseph’s arrest. Stay tuned as more comes out.
