Mickey Joseph on Nebraska's coaching opening: 'The next eight games is your interview'
Mickey Joseph knows that Nebraska has a storied history and deserves to have a national coaching search. He is taking things one game at a time.
Joseph lost his first game at the helm to Oklahoma 49-14. He has been so laser focused that he didn’t even know that the Arizona Cardinals lost to the L.A. Rams. His brother Vance is the defensive coordinator for the Cardinals.
It looks like Joseph knows how impactful these next eight games are going to be.
“Our interview is right now. The next eight games is your interview.”

Nebraska has had a bye week to regroup after losing to Oklahoma. Joseph decided to go on a recruiting trip in Louisiana, and made sure to stop to see his dad and some of his coaching friends.
Joseph made a joke following what happened on the trip, according to Amie Just of the Lincoln Journal Star.
“Everybody wants a job,” said Joseph. “Typical New Orleans.”
Mickey Joseph was back in Louisiana recruiting this weekend. He enjoyed being back in New Orleans, seeing his dad and coaching friends.
Though now that he’s in a new role, he joked that “everybody wants a job.”
He added: “Typical New Orleans.”

Nebraska takes on Indiana Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on BTN in Joseph’s 2nd game as interim head coach.
