Mickey Joseph didn’t have a good start to his interim head coaching debut for Nebraska as the Huskers were crushed 49-14 at home to No. 6 Oklahoma. Joseph is coaching Nebraska after head coach Scott Frost was fired after a disastrous 45-42 home loss to Georgia Southern last week.

After the game, Joseph spoke of the loss in his debut with Nebraska and shouldered the blame for getting things corrected.

“This is on me….I gotta do a better job.”

Oklahoma outgained Nebraska in total yards accounting for 580 to 327 and first downs accounted for 31 to 21. Nebraska also had one more turnover than Oklahoma 2 to 1.

Nebraska’s defense could not contain the rushing game of Oklahoma as the Huskers allowed 312 rushing yards as Oklahoma running back Eric Gray rushed for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns on 11 carries.

Coach Joseph doesn’t expect any significant changes immediately after the loss to Oklahoma.
