Mickey Joseph updates injury status of Casey Thompson, outlook for final 2 games of 2022
Mickey Joseph provided an update on starting QB Casey Thompson on Saturday, who has missed the last two games with a hand injury.
It’s not the greatest news for the Cornhuskers, as the head coach stated that Thompson still has nerve damage in his pinky finger and will remain a day-to-day decision. In Thompson’s absence, Nebraska has relied on Chubby Purdy and Logan Smothers to cover the QB position.
Headed into Saturday, both quarterbacks had combined to complete just 22 passes for 172 yards and 0 touchdowns.
Mickey Joseph says Casey Thompson still has nerve damage in his pinky, and that they will still take it day by day to see if Thompson can play in Nebraska's last two games of the season. #Huskers

It’s been a rough go for the Cornhuskers without the leadership of Thompson, and Nebraska has suffered losses at the hands of Minnesota and Michigan in his absence. Prior to his injury, Thompson had amassed 2,023 yards and 12 TDs and was on track to have a winning season.
Nebraska will face Wisconsin on Saturday.
