Mickey Joseph updates Nebraska's RB depth chart, status of LB Luke Reimer
Mickey Joseph spoke about a number of topics at his weekly press conference. He mentioned how the running back depth chart is looking and what the status of Luke Reimer is for the Illinois game.
Anthony Grant is obviously still going to be the No.1 option in the Huskers backfield. Joseph stated that behind Grant is going to be Jaquez Yant and Rahmir Johnson. Grant leads all Nebraska running backs this season with 682 yards rushing and 6 touchdowns.
Gabe Ervin Jr. is still nursing a turf toe injury and was not included on the list.
Another item that Joseph discussed was how Luke Reimer is feeling heading into Week 9. Reimer was not able to play in the Purdue game with an upper body injury ailing him.
“I feel good about Luke,” said Joseph.
Reimer is a veteran presence at linebacker for Nebraska. He is also leading the team in total tackles (49) and also has 1 sack and a 1 interception on the season.
We’ll see if Reimer gets cleared to play in Week 9.
After Anthony Grant, it’s Yant and Rahmir at running back. Gabe Ervin is still dealing with a turf toe injury, Joseph said.
As for Reimer’s health after missing the Purdue game: “I feel good about Luke.”
