Mike Dawson has a strong group to work with this season as the defensive line/Edge coach for Nebraska.
Included in Dawson’s group is newcomer Ochaun Mathis. After a strong career at TCU, Mathis entered the transfer portal and eventually landed on the Huskers as the destination for his final collegiate season.
On Tuesday, Dawson previewed his unit and what he’s seen throughout fall camp. He continues to praise Mathis as a humble leader who’s pushing the rest of the Edge group throughout camp.
In particular, Dawson revealed Mathis told him he’s the one new guy “who’s not going to let you down.”

Dawson also added that Nebraska is treating the Week 0 trip to Dublin as an away game while facing Northwestern. He indicated the Huskers are heading into the game expecting a run-heavy approach from the Wildcats.
