LOOK: Nebraska will pay tribute to 1997 team with 20th anniversary-inspired uniforms
Nebraska fans often talk about the glory days. That is, when the Huskers were a national power under Tom Osborne and national titles were the expectation.
In 2017, Nebraska might not have the same success as the undefeated 1997 national title squad. But for at least one game, they’ll look like them.
The Huskers revealed a throwback look with a mesh pattern to honor the 1997 team:

According to Uniwatch, the Huskers will bust out the retro look on Oct. 7 against Wisconsin.
Here’s a closer look at the uniforms, which don’t have a stripe on the pants:

Nebraska hasn’t been afraid to experiment with alternate looks in the past. The black alternate jerseys from 2015 got mixed reviews, with many of the complaints being that they didn’t honor the traditional uniforms.
This new look won’t get that kind of feedback. If the Huskers beat Wisconsin, you can bet plans will be made to wear them again.
