Nebraska adding walk-on punter to 2020 roster
Nebraska continues to bolster depth on special teams.
On Thursday, the Huskers received a commitment from Sami Khawja, a punter from IMG Academy. He will be a walk-on for the program, and a member of the 2020 recruiting class. Khawja made his announcement public on Twitter.
“Thank you to all the other coaches who recruited me,” Khawja said in a tweet. “After multiple conversations and creating a relationship with Coach Mossbrucker, I am committed to the University of Nebraska.”

Last season at IMG Academy, Khawja maintained a 36.8 yards per punt average and landed six kicks inside the 20-yard line, according to Omaha World-Herald. Khawja is ranked as the No. 77 punter of 2020, according to Kohl’s Specialist Performance Camp.
Nebraska’s 2020 recruiting class ranked No. 20 nationally and fourth in the B1G.
