Nebraska adds another player via transfer, this time a JUCO DB
Scott Frost continues to bolster Nebraska’s 2022 roster with players from the transfer portal. This time, the Huskers have received a verbal pledge from a junior college defensive back.
Javier Morton announced his commitment to Nebraska on Tuesday, becoming the latest in a slew of transfer portal pick-ups for the Huskers. Out of Garden City Community College, Morton becomes the third JUCO prospect to commit to Nebraska.
Morton made his announcement with a post on social media:
Remember, nobody never believed in us. When they see us now, they can’t believe it’s us 💯 NEVER GIVE UP ON YOURSELF! #COMMITTED #GBR @HuskerFBNation pic.twitter.com/mgSXwPMqBr

A 3-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class, Morton spent the 2021 campaign at Garden City Community College. He was credited with making 20 tackles and 2 pass break-ups.
The other two junior college transfers headed to Nebraska are DeShon Singleton (Hutchinson Community College) and running back Anthony Grant (New Mexico Military Institute).
Morton will have 3 years of eligibility remaining to use in Lincoln. He will be expected to be in the mix to make significant contributions during his first year with the program.
