Nebraska has done it.

The Cornhuskers have added a game to their 2018 schedule to make up for the Week 1 contest against Akron that got cancelled.

On Oct. 27, Nebraska will host Bethune-Cookman:

Nebraska was looking to add an opponent to its schedule and was keying in on the Oct. 27 date since it was an open date for the team. National media was intrigued by that date in particular because UCF — the school Scott Frost coached at last season — had the same date open.

The idea of a Nebraska-UCF matchup in late October was certainly intriguing, but ended up not becoming a reality.

Bethune-Cookman, in 2018, is 1-2 overall. The team has beaten Virginia-Lynchburg and lost to Tennessee State and FAU. The Wildcats compete in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
