Nebraska offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield will be joined by a familiar face on Matt Rhule’s staff.

Ben Portnoy of The State reported Tuesday that Christian Ellsworth departed his post as a graduate assistant at South Carolina to be an offensive analyst at Nebraska working on the passing game. Satterfield was South Carolina’s offensive coordinator for the past 2 seasons under head coach Shane Beamer.

Ellsworth has already updated his Twitter account to reflect his new position.

Portnoy points out that this is a homecoming for Ellsworth. Before playing college football at Northern Iowa, Ellsworth played high school football in Nebraska at Grand Island Northwest. Ellsworth holds Nebraska state records for career passing yards, career completions, career touchdowns, single-game completions, single-game attempts and season completions. He was first-team all-state as a senior.

Ellsworth was on Kansas State’s staff for the 2020 and 2021 seasons before joining Beamer’s South Carolina staff for the 2022 season.
