Nebraska picked up a commitment from a prolific JUCO prospect over the weekend.

On Sunday, running back Anthony Grant out of the New Mexico Military Institute committed to the Huskers. His 247 Sports page lists his commitment to Nebraska over offers from Florida Atlantic, Arkansas State, and New Mexico State among others.

According to the JUCO prospect ratings, Grant is the top-rated RB out of JUCO for the 2022 cycle. He is also the No. 16 overall JUCO prospect for 2022.

Grant began his career at Florida State. As a freshman in 2018, he served on kick return duties with 247 yards on 11 returns.

Over 2 seasons in JUCO, Grant posted 2,549 rushing yards in 20 games. That included 1,730 yards during the 2021-22 season with 18 touchdowns.

After overhauling his offensive staff this offseason, Grant looks to be a solid addition to Scott Frost’s RB room at Nebraska. He should have a chance to compete for playing time right out of the gate.
