Nebraska and Ohio State were supposed to play Saturday. The game is being postponed, however, Nebraska announced Thursday.

An announcement from NU Athletic Communications says the Huskers lacked the necessary number of available players due to health and safety protocols:

The Nebraska men’s basketball game at Ohio State scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 22, in Columbus, Ohio, has been postponed due to health and safety protocols within the Husker program.

With players currently in health and safety protocol, Nebraska fell below the Big Ten Conference roster minimum, with fewer than seven scholarship players available.

The programs will coordinate with the Big Ten Conference office to reschedule the game.

Nebraska’s next scheduled game is against No. 8 Wisconsin on Tuesday, Jan. 25, at 8 p.m., at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Ohio State is 12-4 on the season and ranked No. 19 in the latest AP Top 25. OSU defeated IUPI 83-37 Tuesday and is scheduled to play Minnesota on Jan. 27.

Nebraska is 6-13 after a Monday loss to Indiana 78-71.
