Nebraska baseball will have to wait for a chance to pick up a 10th win in the 2023 season. The Huskers’ first home weekend series of the season has been cut short due to weather.

Nebraska announced Sunday morning that the series finale against Illinois State has been canceled due to cold temperatures. Fans with tickets to Sunday’s game can exchange them for general admission seating tickets to one of the remaining home games.

The Huskers captured the series against Illinois State with wins of 8-3 and 12-0 Friday and Saturday. Nebraska started the season 0-3-1 but has since won 9 of its last 10 games, improving to 9-4-1. The recent run includes a weekend sweep at South Alabama, wins over Vanderbilt and Hawaii in the Cambria College Classic and sweeping a midweek home series against Northern Colorado.

Nebraska is in the middle of a 9-game home stretch. The Huskers host Omaha on Tuesday before Nicholls visits for a 4-game Thursday-Sunday weekend series.
