Nebraska basketball lands commitment from transfer forward out of Alabama

Nebraska basketball has picked up a commitment from a former 4-star prospect via the transfer portal.

Thursday evening, small forward Juwan Gary announced his commitment to the Huskers via his Instagram account. Gary began his career at Alabama as a 4-star prospect and the No. 23 SF nationally via the 2019 recruiting class.

Gary began his career with a medical redshirt during his first season with the Crimson Tide. Over the past 2 seasons, he has appeared in 59 games, including 16 starts during the 2021-22 season.

Gary averaged 6.5 points and 15.6 minutes played last season with 3.4 rebounds. He also shot 63% from inside the 3-point line during 2021-22.

Gary has career averages of 5.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and is a career 52% shooter from the field. He had 10 points, 4 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals in an NCAA Tournament loss to Notre Dame. Gary had a pair of double-doubles last season.
