Nebraska has put in its bid to host a regional round of the 2021 NCAA baseball tournament. Head coach Will Bolt confirmed the news to reporters on Wednesday.

The NCAA will be changing how it handles its annual baseball tournament, establishing predetermined regional sites. Typically, top teams in the sport get the opportunity to host.

Per Chris Basnett of Huskers Extra, Bolt said that Nebraska had the facilities, fan support and administration to be able to host the tournament without a problem.

The Huskers are enjoying a nice season so far, sitting at 15-6 on the year. The B1G is playing a conference-only schedule during the baseball season.

Last weekend, Nebraska won two of three games against Maryland. This week, the Huskers travel to Penn State for a three-game series against the Nittany Lions from Friday through Sunday.
