Nebraska’s coaching search following the firing of Scott Frost will be an interesting story to follow throughout the season. One person with connections to the Huskers recently endorsed a Group of 5 coach as a strong candidate for the vacancy.

In a short thread on Twitter, Joe Moglia – a former Nebraska assistant – advocated for Coastal Carolina head coach Jamey Chadwell. Chadwell succeeded Moglia as the head coach at the Myrtle Beach program, and Moglia believes Chadwell would “get the job done” in Lincoln.

Moglia served as an assistant for the Huskers from 2009-10. He would later serve as the head coach at Coastal Carolina from 2012-16 and in 2018, finishing with a 56-22 record for the Chanticleers.

Chadwell has gone 32-19 overall since becoming the full-time head coach at Coastal in 2019 and has produced back-to-back 11-win seasons for the program. We’ll have to wait and see if he becomes a serious candidate for the job.
