Nebraska comes with receipts in epic clapback after Colorado win
Nebraska is still feeling good after steamrolling past Colorado 28-10 in Week 2. The win by the Huskers delivered a big statement and further elevated the outlook for the program under Matt Rhule this fall.
In the week leading up to the game, Nebraska had its fair share of doubters with the Buffs bringing star quarterback Shedeur Sanders, 2-way phenom Travis Hunter and head coach Deion Santers into the matchup. However, linebacker Mikai Gbayor was not intimidated, laying down the challenge prior to the game.
“For another team coming in here thinking they’re going to run through us, or it’s going to be sleek, good luck to them,” said Gbayor. “We wish them the best.”
Some analysts responded with caution to Nebraska for those comments, but the Huskers had the last laugh. The social media team for the Huskers compiled Gbayor’s comments and those comments of analysts warning Nebraska in a brilliant clapback video for Monday.

As for Gbayor, he lived up to his comments in the game. Gbayor tied for the team lead with 6 total tackles including 3 solo stops and a tackle for loss in Nebraska’s dominant performance.
The Husker defense would limit Shedeur Sanders to 23-for-38 passing for 244 yards and a touchdown but also delivered a pick-6 off Sanders via Tommi Hill. The pick-6 was 1 of 2 takeaways for the Huskers while also holding Colorado to 16 rushing yards.
