Nebraska defends home court, picks up key B1G win over Maryland
Nebraska basketball earned a sneaky good win over Maryland Sunday, beating the Terrapins from start to finish, 70-66 in overtime. Derrick Walker led the way with 23 points for Nebraska.
The Cornhuskers have now won 7 B1G games and 4 of their last 5. Fred Hoiberg’s squad is starting to turn a corner in February, but is it too little too late?
Perhaps not, at least as far as seeding in the B1G tournament is concerned. The Huskers are effectively out of consideration for an at-large bid, with their only remaining chance at cracking the tournament lying in winning the B1G tournament for an automatic bid.
The Huskers have a long way to go, but getting a good seed among a logjam of teams near the middle of the pack in the conference is a good first step.
