Nebraska delivers game-icing pick-6 after sluggish afternoon vs. Purdue
Nebraska sought a 4-1 start to the 2024 season on Saturday as it traveled to West Lafayette to take on Purdue, the B1G opener for the Boilermakers.
Offense hasn’t been the name of the game in this one as the game was scoreless at the end of a half. In fact, the first points of the game came with under 7 minutes left in the 3rd on a Purdue field goal.
The Huskers, though, have rattled out 28 points in a row to turn a close game into a relative blowout. They scored touchdowns on 3 straight possessions to go up 21-3 with 6 minutes and 18 seconds remaining in regulation.
The defense picked up a score of their own, too: John Bullock picked off Hudson Card and took it the other way for the score to make it 28-3.
Here’s video of the interception, the first of the senior’s career:

Purdue responded with a touchdown on the ensuing drive, but with under 90 seconds remaining, Nebraska was in control. The Huskers evened their B1G record to 1-1 as they bounced back from an overtime loss to Illinois six days ago. They’ll host undefeated Rutgers in Week 6.
