Nebraska fell to USC Saturday night to move to 5-5 overall. It was far from a strong performance from the Husker offense in Dana Holgorsen’s first game as OC, but the final play of the game received some specific attention.

With one final chance, Dylan Raiola took a shot at the end zone. He was picked off, but that is not what received the attention.

Jahmal Banks clearly received some early contact from DeCarlos Nicholson, and there was even more to that contact. The jersey of Banks can clearly be seen getting held and stretched off the shoulder pad by Nicholson though no flag was thrown on the play.

Nicholson was not the one to intercept the pass with Greedy Vance Jr. stepping in front for the interception, but it was clear the contact impeded Banks from trying to get back to the football.

“You see Nicholson tug the jersey right there, not give (Banks) the chance to go back to the ball,” said the FOX crew on the broadcast. The crew did acknowledge the officials allowed both teams to play physically all game long, but that one felt especially egregious to some.

So, should it have been a flag or was it a good no-call? Fans weighed in across social media with many looking for a flag but not getting one.
