The Nebraska Cornhuskers have flipped a 3-star in-state recruit from his ACC commitment.

Eric Ingwerson committed to the Pittsburgh Panthers back in March. On Wednesday, the 2024 tight end announced that he will be flipping to the Huskers.

Ingwerson sat down with Mike Sautter to discuss why he chose to flip from Pitt to Nebraska.

“Mostly, it’s just the family,” explained Ingwerson. “Mentally, I would’ve been struggling out there (in Pittsburgh).” Ingwerson also noted that his uncles both played at Nebraska, which factored into his decision.

“At Nebraska, I believe in what they’re about to be doing and I believe they’re on the right path,” Ingwerson stated.

The 6’7″, 235 lb tight end is rated as the No. 9 prospect out of Nebraska in the 2024 class, per the 247Sports Composite ranking. Ingwerson joins a 2024 Nebraska class that is currently ranked No. 23 in the nation. Ingwerson joins 4-star Carter Nelson and 3-star Ian Flynt as tight end commits to Nebraska for 2024.
