Nebraska football added its 2nd commitment of the day late Monday afternoon, earning a pledge from 3-star safety Rex Guthrie. He joins 3-star RB Kewan Lacy as players to commit to Nebraska Monday.

Guthrie chose the Huskers over the likes of Penn and Wyoming. He stands at 6-1, 200 pounds and currently attends heritage HS in Littleton, Colorado.

He also plays baseball and runs track for LHS.

Guthrie spoke with On3Sports to discuss his commitment to the Huskers prior to Monday.

“What stood out to me the most was the coaching staff and the culture they are building there,” Guthrie said. “Everyone I talked to (players and all the staff) is completely bought into the program and ready to be great.”

Guthrie is currently unranked by 247Sports’ composite rankings. Below is his highlight tape, via Hudl.
