Nebraska football is just about to kick off Saturday’s action in Week 0 against Northwestern. Ahead of the start, the Huskers dropped their projected starters for the game.
Already knowing the Huskers were going with Casey Thompson – the Texas transfer – at quarterback, the offense also features Anthony Grant as RB1 for Nebraska. Grant came to the Huskers after a strong JUCO season and apparently beat out Rahmir Johnson and others for the starting spot.
Tommi Hill – a transfer defensive back out of Arizona State – also locked down a starting role at cornerback for the defense. Ochaun Mathis – TCU transfer – is listed alongside Caleb Tannor as potential starters at right Edge.
Also of note, transfer receivers Trey Palmer and Marcus Washington are listed as starters at receiver. While Rahmir Johnson is not listed as a starter, he should see the field in a variety of roles on a regular basis this season.
