Nebraska football is set to get a boost on the defensive line from recent signee Tyson Terry. However, the accomplished multi-sport athlete from Omaha was finishing his wrestling career this winter before moving on to the Huskers, and Terry completed his career in historic fashion on Saturday.

With a win in the state final, Terry became the 38th wrestler in Nebraska history to win 4 state titles. He is the only NSAA wrestler to win all 4 titles at the heavyweight division, finishing his prep career undefeated with an overall 169-0 record.

If those numbers are not impressive or insane enough, Terry revealed afterwards that he competed during his senior wrestling season with a torn ACL, according to KETV’s Matt Sottile. The injury initially occurred during football season, and Terry will have surgery to repair the injury next week.

Now that Terry’s wrestling career is over, Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule can begin dreaming about the young player on the Husker defense. Terry is rated as a 4-star defensive lineman per the 247 Sports Composite and was the No. 3 player from the state of Nebraska for the 2025 recruiting class. He joins Nebraska in a group that was rated the No. 22 group in the country per the composite.
