Nebraska football chief-of-staff Gerrod Lambrecht is leaving the program, Scott Frost announced on Friday.

Lambrecht, who is a longtime friend of Frost’s, is departing to pursue a business opportunity.

“Gerrod is going to moving on,” Frost said, via 3newsnow. “He’s responsible for a lot of the progress we’ve made around here getting done things done. One of my best friends in the world and was infinitely valuable to us around here. I’m going to miss him but he had another business opportunity that he wanted to go try. He loves these players dearly too and the guys know that.”

Lambrecht has worked with Frost since 2016 when he was the head coach at Central Florida.

Andrew Sims will fill the vacancy, Frost also announced. Sims was serving as the director of football operations for the past two years.

Sims is an Indiana alum. Prior to coming to Nebraska, Sims worked in a similar role at Southern Miss.
