Nebraska has been a little quiet on the recruiting front during the 2021 cycle, but the Huskers have made a big splash this week.

Monday night, Nebraska received a verbal commitment from 6-foot-7, 330-pound offensive tackle Branson Yager out of Grantsville, Utah. He became the third offensive lineman to commit to the Huskers and made his announcement on Twitter.

“I want to thank all of the other schools that have shown faith and interest in me, this whole experience has been incredible,” Yager wrote on Twitter. “I am extremely excited to announce that I am officially 100% committed to the University of Nebraska. Thank you Coach Frost, Austin, Tuioti, Dillon and everyone else on the staff for believing in me and giving me my new home.”

Yager is a three-star offensive tackle, according to 247Sports’ rankings. He’s ranked as the No. 15 player out of Utah and the No. 127 offensive tackle in the 2021 cycle. He becomes the fifth player in this year’s class to give a verbal pledge to the Cornhuskers.

Nebraska has struggled on the offensive line in recent years, so adding big bodies up front should help in that department. Yager brings a good frame to Lincoln and will mirror some of the offensive lineman seen at places like Wisconsin, Iowa, Ohio State and Michigan.

With Yager’s commitment, Nebraska now ranks 41st nationally and 12th in the B1G.
