A local offensive lineman has decided to commit to a hometown program.
Nebraska landed its second commitment of the 2023 class on Saturday, receiving a verbal pledge from in-state offensive lineman Gunnar Gottula. He joins fellow Nebraska native Benjamin Brahmer (WR) to commit to the Huskers as a member of the 2023 cycle.
Gottula made his announcement with a post on Twitter.
“I would also like to thank all the coaches that gave me opportunities to play at the next level and have spent time with in me in the recruiting process,” Gottula wrote. “With that being said, I have decided to commit to the University of Nebraska. Thank you Coach Frost, Coach Austin, Coach Ruud, Coach Tuioti and the entire staff for believing in me and giving me this opportunity.”

Gottula, a Lincoln, native, held offers from Iowa, Iowa State and Kansas State, in addition to Nebraska. The 6-foot-6, 250-pound offensive lineman does not currently have any rankings on 247Sports’ website.
Nebraska extended the offer to Gottula earlier this month.
