Nebraska head coaching search: CFB insider releases early candidates for Nebraska's vacant position
Nebraska’ Scott Frost is out as head coach and interim head coach Mickey Joseph is in.
Joseph likely won’t be staying at that position for long. Here’ a quick list of guys who Nebraska could be targeting for the open head coaching position, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Names for Nebraska: Matt Campbell, Mark Stoops, Dave Aranda, Bill O’Brien, Lance Leipold, Jim Leonard, PJ Fleck, Chris Klieman, Dave Doeren, Sam Pittman, Alex Grinch, Matt Entz, Bret Bielema, Jamey Chadwell and Troy Calhoun.

Bill O’Brien had to be on this list, right? The former Houston Texans head coach now resides in Tuscaloosa, Alabama as offensive coordinator.
Mark Stoops and Sam Pittman are also interesting names from the SEC. It seems unlikely that they would leave good positions for the job, but Nebraska’s illustrious history could be a tempting challenge for any head coach.
This is jus the beginning. What do you think of this initial list?
