Nebraska hoops center enters name into NCAA Transfer Portal after 2 years in Lincoln
Nebraska hoops center Oleg Kojenets officially entered the NCAA Transfer Portal Tuesday afternoon, a move that doesn’t come as much surprise following a redshirt freshman season of little playing time.
Kojenets, a 7-footer from Lithuania, played sparingly for Fred Hoiberg and Co. this past season. He saw just 60 minutes of playing time across 18 appearances this season, totaling just 10 points.

Kojenets was only recruited by 2 Power 5 schools: Nebraska and Georgia Tech. He didn’t see time this past season because he sits behind Derrick Walker, perhaps Nebraska’s top player. Walker, who transferred from Tennessee, is out of eligibility after this year.
For now, the only player on the roster with experience at the 5-position on the court is Blaise Keita. As for Kojenets, a former 3-star entering college, he’s likely to transfer to a mid-major conference with little playing experience.
