It certainly wasn’t pretty, but it still counts as a win for Nebraska.

The Cornhuskers looked sloppy and ineffective for much of Saturday’s game against Northwestern. To make those struggles even worse, quarterback Adrian Martinez was removed in the second half with what appeared to be a lower-body injury.

Fortunately, Nebraska’s defense stepped up with an interception by Lamar Jackson in the closing minutes. Backup QB Noah Vedral took the ball and led the offense in range for the game-winning kick attempt.

Even the kick was a bit troublesome as it came out low on the trajectory, but it was good nonetheless. The game-winner by Lane McCallum sent Nebraska home with a second conference win of the season:
