Nebraska will have one less option at kicker this fall.

Monday morning, redshirt freshman walk-on kicker Ryan Novosel announced on Twitter that he has decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal. He spent just one season with the program and did not see any game action.

“On Friday, I entered my name into the transfer portal, saying goodbye to the University of Nebraska,” Novosel wrote on Twitter. “I am grateful to have spent this year in a storied program where perseverance and resiliency were vital to success. This year reinforced my commitment to excellence. I am excited to find a new home for this Fall that will benefit from both my academic strength and kicking dedication. My recruitment is full opened back up.”

Novosel was listed a 4.5 star kicker by Kohl’s Kicking and was considered one of the Top 100 players at his position for the 2020 class. He will have all four years of eligibility to use at his next destination.

Novosel was a Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll member for the fall semester in 2020.
