Nebraska received some great news on Wednesday night.

Adrian Martinez, a four-star dual-threat quarterback out of Fresno, California, gave his verbal pledge to Scott Frost and the Huskers, making the announcement on Twitter. He’s ranked as a top 10 player at his position by 247Sports.

This is another huge addition for Frost and his staff as they continue to construct the first recruiting class in Lincoln. At 6-foot-2, 205 pounds, Martinez would be that mobile quarterback that has defined Nebraska football.

Martinez was previously committed to Tennessee before opting to join the Huskers. Frost had offered the versatile quarterback when he was at UCF, so there was a relationship built between the two.

The commitment from Martinez pushes Nebraska’s total up to 11 recruits for 2018. The Huskers currently rank 13th in the B1G and 54th nationally.

Martinez had over two dozen offers but had just three from B1G schools. He chose Nebraska over Alabama, Oklahoma, USC and Ohio State. He’s ranked in the top 150 nationally and is a top 20 player from California.
