Nebraska’s 2022 recruiting class has added a running back.
Sam McKewon of the Omaha World-Herald reported on Thursday that 3-star running back Ashton Hayes has committed to Nebraska. The Reno, Nevada native becomes the fifth player of the cycle to verbally commit to Scott Frost and the Huskers.
Hayes is considered one of the Top 500 players overall in the 2022 recruiting class. He received more than a dozen offers, picking Nebraska over Cal, Hawaii, Fresno State, Nevada, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, Stanford, UNLV and Utah at the FBS level.
Reno (Nevada) McQueen RB Ashton Hayes confirmed to me he's committed to Nebraska.
The #Huskers got a good one there.

The news of Hayes’ commitment to the Huskers comes after a June 11 visit to Lincoln.
Hayes is listed as a 5-foot-11, 180-pound running back who ranks as the No. 9 player out of Nevada and No. 39 running back of the class, per 247Sports Composite Rankings. Nationally, he comes in at No. 488.
Nebraska’s 2022 class ranked No. 48 nationally and No. 11 in the B1G prior to Hayes’ commitment. With June and July being such big recruiting months, there will be plenty of change.
