Freshman Nebraska linebacker Wynden Ho’ohuli, who was the second-highest-ranked recruit in the team’s 2021 class, has entered his name in the transfer portal. The Omaha World-Herald was one of multiple outlets to report the news Friday.

Ho’ohuli is a former 4-star recruit and was one of the Top 200 overall prospects in the 2022 recruiting class, ranking No. 155 in the 247Sports composite rankings. The only player ranked higher in the Huskers’ class was tight end Thomas Fidone.

The Hawai’i native spent just one season in Lincoln before deciding to enter his name into the transfer portal. Ho’ohuli will still have four years of eligibility after redshirting during the 2021 season.

Ho’ohuli did not play in any games for the Huskers last fall.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound linebacker will likely have plenty of suitors once he’s in the transfer portal. Ho’ohuli held offers from over a dozen programs, several of which were from the Pac-12.
