A Nebraska linebacker is now looking for a new home.

Wednesday, Greg Smith of Hail Varsity reported that linebacker Jackson Hannah has decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal. He was in Lincoln for 3 seasons and appeared in every game for the Huskers during the 2021 campaign.

Most of Hannah’s time was spent on special teams during the fall, but did step in at linebacker against Fordham, recording his first career tackle in Lincoln. He did not appear in any games during his first 2 seasons with the program.

Because of the COVID-19 waiver and his redshirt status, Hannah will have 3 seasons of eligibility to use at his next destination.

A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Hannah ranked as one of the Top 500 overall prospects in the 2019 class, per 247Sports composite rankings. He was listed as the No. 27 outside linebacker for the cycle and was a Top 15 prospect from his home state.

During the recruiting process, Hannah received 18 offers. He picked Nebraska over Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, LSU, Louisville, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Oregon, Purdue, South Carolina, Virginia and Wisconsin, among others.
