Nebraska LB JoJo Domann recovers for impressive pass breakup after initially getting beat

Nebraska’s JoJo Domann prevented a huge gain with an impressive recovery on this play.

Facing Minnesota, the Huskers defense has looked good but surrendered a couple of big plays to the Gophers. Minnesota put up 17 points in the first half and it is Nebraska’s defense looking for a sharper performance in the second half.

On this play, Domann was initially beat deep down the field in man coverage. Without help over the top, it looked like Minnesota quarterback Tanner Morgan would connect with his receiver for a huge gain.

Morgan’s throw was perfect as he dropped it in over the top and hit his man in stride. But it was Domann that was able to break up the play, timing his dive perfectly to tip the ball away.

Domann prevented the big gainer and the drive ended without Minnesota scoring:
