Nebraska makes top group for 4-star OT, top-80 overall recruit, out of Louisiana

After picking up 18 scholarship offers, Zalance Heard is starting to narrow things down in his recruitment. This weekend, Heard revealed that Nebraska is one of his top options.

The Huskers are joined by Auburn, Florida State, Houston, Louisiana Tech, LSU, Oklahoma State and Texas in the top 8 for the Neville (Monroe, Lousiana) standout. Mickey Joseph, a Louisiana native and former LSU assistant, is leading the recruitment of Heard for Scott Frost’s staff. Heard visited Nebraska on June 10.

Heard is listed at 6-5, 300 pounds and rated 4-stars, the No. 6 Louisiana product, No. 9 offensive tackle and No. 79 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2023 on the 247Sports Composite. His junior-season highlights can be viewed below, via Hudl:
