Cam Jurgens had a strong run while at Nebraska, but the offensive lineman for the Huskers will not be returning for 2022.

In a video shared on Twitter, Jurgens announced his decision to declare for the 2022 NFL Draft:

“Dear Husker Nation, thank you for everything you’ve given me,” said Jurgens. “Life at Nebraska has been the greatest honor ever given to me…You will always have a place in my heart and this will always be my home. I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my life but I will never forget my roots and the Husker traditions that brought me up.”

Jurgens ended his career with 18 consecutive starts at center, including starting all 12 games at the position in 2021. He finished as a 3rd-team All-B1G selection by the coaches.

Jurgens was a redshirt junior with 4 years in the program since joining Nebraska as a member of the 2018 recruiting class. Though coming back was an option for next season, he is likely ready for the jump to the NFL.

Best of luck to Jurgens as he moves forward in his career!
