Fred Hoiberg has added another piece to his Nebraska roster from the transfer portal.

The Huskers landed a verbal commitment from DePaul transfer and former 4-star prospect Keon Edwards. He spent one season at DePaul before hitting the NCAA transfer portal.

Edwards was initially a member of the 2021 recruiting class but reclassified to the 2020 class and enrolled at DePaul in December. He played in just five contests for the Blue Demons, averaging 7.8 minutes and 1.9 points per game.

When DePaul moved on from head coach Dave Leitao, Edwards decided to enter his name in the NCAA transfer portal and explore other options. He picked Nebraska over offers from Georgia, Texas A&M, Florida State, Arizona State, Alabama and Auburn.

Nebraska is coming off a 7-20 season in Hoiberg’s second year with the program. The Huskers are adding talent and depth with the commitment from the 6-foot-7 wing.
