Long-time Nebraska quarterback Adrian Martinez is testing the waters and will enter the transfer portal, according to 247Sports.

Martinez, who has spent 4 seasons with the program, recently had surgery for his injured shoulder. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Martinez was granted an additional season of eligibility.

Nebraska coach Scott Frost recently stated that he expected a swift decision from Martinez.

“I don’t think that decision will take too long,” Frost said. “I want what’s best for the program and definitely want what’s best for Adrian.”

Martinez amassed 2,863 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions this season. For his Nebraska career, Martinez has totaled 8,491 yards, 45 touchdowns, and 30 interceptions.

Nebraska finished 3-9 overall and sixth place in the B1G West. The Cornhuskers ended on a six-game losing streak, most recently dropping a 28-21 contest vs. then-No. 16 Iowa. Nebraska’s last victory came vs. Northwestern on Oct. 2.
