Nebraska QB Luke McCaffrey completes clutch 3rd down with lefty heave
Things are going Nebraska’s way on Saturday afternoon.
The Huskers lead Penn State 27-3 at the half thanks to an outstanding performance from their defense and a great effort from new starting quarterback Luke McCaffrey.
Late in the first half, the right-handed McCaffrey used his left hand to attempt a pass on 3rd and 9 while being pressured.

Thanks in-part to this play, the Huskers ended up getting a field goal just before the half to make it 27-6.
McCaffrey was great in the first half against Penn State. He completed 10-of-15 passes for 132 yards and a touchdown. He also had a wide-open touchdown dropped in the first quarter. McCaffrey has also been solid on the ground, rushing for 22 yards and a score on five carries.
Meanwhile, Penn State QB Sean Clifford was benched in the first half after a pair of ugly turnovers.
Both teams are in search for their first win of the season.
