Nebraska QBs coach was impressed with Adrian Martinez's character during loss at Michigan
Some would categorize Nebraska’s 56-10 loss to Michigan as a downright embarrassment.
Nobody played well, right?
According to Nebraska QBs coach Mario Verduzco, that wasn’t necessarily the case. After the game, Huskers QB Adrian Martinez didn’t think he played well at all.
Here’s what Verduzco had to say about that:
“There was obviously a lot of stress on those guys,” Verduzco said. “But what I was really pleased with for those characters — games like that reveal character. And those two young guys were awesome.”
Verduzco also talked about how Martinez’s pass going over the middle on the first drive was a perfect read, but that the ball got tipped at the line and was intercepted.
“That’s AOG, man,” Verduzco said. “That falls under the category of AOG. It’s an act of God.”
The rest of the game is history. A 46-point blowout is how many will remember the game.
But, if Martinez can learn from his mistakes and never get too down on himself, the years ahead under coach Scott Frost and Verduzco can certainly be promising.
