Nebraska receives postseason destination in first bowl game since 2016
Nebraska picked a prestigious place to resume its bowl tradition after a lengthy stay on the proverbial sidelines.
The Cornhuskers will face Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium on Dec. 28 in a noon ET Saturday kickoff from the Bronx on ABC. It will be Nebraska’s first bowl game since 2016, hard as that might be to believe for a program with such incredible tradition. The last time the Huskers were in a bowl game, they lost to Tennessee in the Music City Bowl.

After a 5-1 start to the season, the Cornhuskers struggled mightily in the second half of the regular season, losing 5 of their last 6 games to finish 6-6. Their only victory during that ugly stretch was at home against Wisconsin in the second-to-last game of the regular season.
Meanwhile, Boston College finished 7-5 but, like Nebraska, had a strong start to the season at 4-1 before the losses started coming.
BC, which is coached by former Penn State head coach and Alabama assistant Bill O’Brien, did win 3 of its final 4 games, with the only loss coming against Playoff-bound SMU. The Eagles average 29.3 points and 367.2 yards per game.
This will be the first-ever meeting between Nebraska and Boston College. It also will mark Nebraska’s first meeting with a current member of the ACC since 2015.
